Aces’ Cambage closes the curtains in close win against Wings

Las Vegas Aces’ forward A’Ja Wilson has recorded a double-double, in a close home win against the Dallas Wings Sunday June 13, 85-78.

Las Vegas (8-3) will square off against New York Liberty, currently at (6-5), in a home matchup on Sunday, June 13, at 3:00 p.m.

The Aces seemed to find their scheme as a team and continued to add to their chemistry throughout the game.

Despite the game being close and coming down to the last few minutes, Las Vegas is definitely back to being the best team, statistically.

The scheme appears to continue to look the same as previous games: feed the post and use the lanes to cut to the basket for easier points.

The Aces found themselves trailing in the second half but would not back down.

Aces’ center Liz Cambage hit a three-pointer that proved to be a curtain-closing performance to secure the win at home.

Las Vegas looked sluggish early in the game after having an entire week off.

The team was unable to make the easy shots and forced itself into unforced turnovers attempting to make the extra-effort play.

Wilson recorded another double-double on the season with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Additionally, she shot over 50% percent from the field, shooting 10-for-18 on the night.

Las Vegas reverted back to the number one offensive efficiency with their entire starting five scoring in double figures.

Cambage recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Aces’ guard Kelsey Plum tallied 13 points off-the-bench in her debut game coming back from the 3v3 league for Team USA.

The Aces had a difficult time defending forward Satou Sabally, who recorded 24 points.

Now Las Vegas can start focusing on a defensive scheme for their next opponent, New York Liberty.
