The pendulum has swung back in favor of the Vegas Golden Knights as the team has run its streak of wins to six.
Vegas defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-2, Sunday, April 18 from the Honda Center in California.
The Knights are now 31-11-2 and will face the San Jose Sharks Monday, April 19.
In addition, the team is now locked into a tie with the Colorado Avalanche
It was offense early and often for Vegas, scoring 3:25 into the first period and needing just 2:43 to get its first points of the second period.
The team scored two goals in each of the first two periods to go up 4-2 heading into the third period.
Left-wing Max Pacioretty opened the scoring with his team-leading 22nd goal in the first period.
He also assisted on the other goal in the period off the stick of defenseman Alex Pietrangelo.
Center Nicolas Roy scored his fifth goal of the season very early in the second period and captain Mark Stone finished off the scoring in the 20-minute frame with just 1:47 left.
Stone’s goal was his 15th of the season and came on a power play for Vegas.
He also assisted on Pacioretty’s first period goal and now leads the team with 35 on the year.
Roy became the third player for the Knights to record a goal and an assist when he assisted on right-wing Alex Tuch’s 16th goal of the season.
Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury recorded 33 saves for a save percentage of .943%.
He also recorded his first assist of the year on Stone’s second period goal.
